Human Trafficking Summit

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has made the fight against human trafficking a top priority. To that end, on Jan. 9, 2020, General Yost will be hosting the inaugural Human Trafficking Summit at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

The daylong gathering will feature survivors sharing their experiences and experts discussing best practices. Likewise, multidisciplinary teams that have both helped victims and improved criminal case outcomes will share what they know.

Survivors, advocates, law enforcement officers, and community stakeholders are all welcome to join in the discussion.

“Today’s slave masters don’t use iron chains,” the attorney general said. “They use addiction, fraud and psychological manipulation, and those

invisible chains hidden in the mind can be harder to break than iron links. So join me in kicking off the new year at this important summit to see what we can each do to free the victims of modern-day slavery.”

Registration for the summit is now open (with a limited number of scholarships available). Note that continuing education credits have been applied for through the Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board and the Supreme Court of Ohio.
