New Directions, the Domestic Abuse Shelter and Rape Crisis Center of Knox County, seeks a full-time Prevention Educator. The Prevention Educator provides educational opportunities throughout the community – on an individual or group basis – to youth and adults in local schools, businesses, and organizations. This is a grant-funded position. Candidate must have experience in grant writing and reporting and be comfortable articulating grant outcomes. The person in this position will work closely with other prevention program staff and must be willing to connect directly with local entities to schedule programming. This position will require local travel, as well as periodic in-state travel.

Candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology or a related field. Experience presenting to youth in schools and/or adults in businesses is also helpful. A current or previous connection to Knox County is also desirable, though not mandatory.
