(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced today that a superseding indictment has been filed against former Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Christopher Ward.
The superseding indictment charges Ward with seven felonies for alleged sexual assaults against six victims:
- Two counts of Sexual Battery with Sexually Violent Predator specifications (F-3)
- Five counts Gross Sexual Imposition (F-4)
The alleged assaults with five of the victims occurred within the course of his employment. The sixth victim is a minor.
If convicted, Ward could face life in prison. His trial is anticipated to begin on Nov. 12, 2019.

The Special Prosecutions Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting the case. Indictments merely contain allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
