New Projects Expected to Create More Than $89 Million in Investments

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of assistance for nine projects set to create 1,222 new jobs and retain 1,883 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $82 million in new payroll and spur more than $89 million in investments across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

CENTRAL
Essilor Laboratories of America Inc. (Essilor), City of Columbus (Franklin Co.), expects to create 118 full-time positions, generating $4.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $12.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Columbus. Essilor manufactures ophthalmic lenses for prescriptions, frames, and sunglass lenses. The TCA approved a 1.277 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Hagerty Insurance Agency LLC (Hagerty), City of Dublin (Franklin Co.), expects to create 127 full-time positions, generating $6.2 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Dublin. Hagerty is an insurance company specializing in classic car insurance. The TCA approved a 1.454 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHEAST
Brightedge Technologies Inc. (Brightedge), City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to create 147 full-time positions, generating $15.1 million in new annual payroll and retaining $7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Cleveland. Brightedge designs and develops internet advertising and marketing software solutions. The TCA approved a 2.085 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

eResearch Technology Inc. (ERT), City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to create 100 full-time positions, generating $7 million in new annual payroll and retaining $1.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Cleveland. ERT is a data and technology company providing automation software and services for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and for contract research organizations. The TCA approved a 2.17 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

OnShift Inc., City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to create 200 full-time positions, generating $19.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $18.8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Cleveland. OnShift develops staff scheduling software focused on employee scheduling for the long-term care and senior living industries. The TCA approved a 1.289 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST
Amify Inc., City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.), expects to create 90 full-time positions, generating $8.1 million in new annual payroll and retaining $450,000 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Cincinnati. Amify is an Amazon strategy partner focused on Amazon brands. The TCA approved a 1.916 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Sugar Creek Packing, West Chester Township (Butler Co.), expects to create 120 full-time positions, generating $4.2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $21.2 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in West Chester Township. Sugar Creek Packing manufactures packaged foods for the retail and food service industry. The TCA approved a 1.193 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

WESTERN
Cornerstone Research Group Incorporated (CRG), City of Miamisburg and Miami Township (Montgomery Co.), expects to create 250 full-time positions, generating $15 million in new annual payroll and retaining $7.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s continuing operation in the City of Miamisburg and new project in Miami Township. CRG manufactures high-tech products and services for the aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors. The TCA approved a 2.101 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Henny Penny Corporation, City of Eaton (Preble Co.), expects to create 70 full-time positions, generating $3.1 million in new annual payroll and retaining $41.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Eaton. Henny Penny provides food service equipment solutions to quick service and casual dining chains, health care facilities, and supermarkets. The TCA approved a 1.294 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
