Governor DeWine Orders Flags Lowered for Cpl. Thomas Cole Walker

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—In honor of the life and service of Corporal Thomas Cole Walker, of Conneaut, Ohio, Governor DeWine has ordered that all U.S. and Ohio flags be lowered to half-staff on all public buildings and grounds in Ashtabula County, and at the Ohio Statehouse, Vern Riffe Center, and Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus.

Cpl. Walker and two other U.S. Army soldiers were killed early Sunday morning when their armored vehicle rolled off a bridge and submerged in water during training in Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Flags shall remain lowered until sunset on the day of Cpl. Walker’s funeral.
