Missing Person – Ernest Baker

On September 20, 2019, at approximately 10:00 p.m., deputies responded to the area of McCament Road and Totten Road on a report of a missing person. Witnesses told officers that fifty-four-year-old Ernest Baker, from Roseville Ohio, became separated from his group while walking in a wooded area, and they were unable to locate him. Family members stated that Mr. Baker suffers from several health conditions.

A search of the area was conducted by deputies from Knox, and Coshocton counties, Bladensburg Fire District personnel, and Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation. The search was suspended around 12:11 a.m. after the victim could not be located.

Search efforts resumed on Saturday morning with assistance from Bladensburg Fire District, Kokosing Valley Search and Rescue, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation. Mr. Baker is still reported missing, and search efforts are scheduled to resume on Sunday.

On Sunday, crews continued searching wooded areas southeast of Bladensburg, near the Coshocton County line, for Ernest Baker.

Mr. Baker was reported to have been wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and glasses.  He is 5’8” tall and has gray hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Knox County Sheriff’s Office at 740-397-3333. Lt. Craig Feeney is in charge of the investigation.
