Ryan Llewellyn Headed Back to Prison for Failure to Register, Vows to Appeal

Last Thursday in Knox County Common Pleas Court, Judge Richard Wetzel sentenced Ryan Llewellyn to 3 years and 9 months in prison for two counts of failure to register changes of address as a sex offender. The counts were ordered to be served concurrently. Llewellyn was found guilty after a bench trial of failing to provide residential address information and failing to provide Facebook account information to the Sheriff. These charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 3 years.

Llewellyn was required to register as a sex offender after pleading guilty to gross sexual imposition in 2016. In February 2018, he was found guilty of failure to register after moving to Tuscarawas County and not registering with the Sheriff.

Llewellyn has vowed to appeal his convictions, alleging constitutional issues with Ohio’s sex offender registration law and other errors.
