Kokosing River Closure at Mt. Vernon Avenue Bridge

Beginning Tuesday, September 3, the Kokosing River will be closed to boaters at the Mt. Vernon Avenue bridge project for bridge demolition work. 

  • Boaters will need to exit the river approx. 250 feet upstream of the bridge and follow the marked ‘Portage Detour’ across Mt. Vernon Ave. to the downstream side where boaters can safely re-enter the river.
  • Estimated completion: Friday, September 6, weather permitting
