Two Sentenced From October SWAT Raid on Gambier Street

Judge Richard Wetzel sentenced two individuals arrested October 1, 2018, when MVPD and KCSO tactical response units executed a search warrant at a house in the 500 block of Gambier Street in Mount Vernon.

Antonio Bolden, 24, of Youngstown, was sentenced to 4 years of mandatory prison time on two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, second-degree felonies. He was found in possession of 74 grams of methamphetamine and 28 grams of heroin during the raid. He was also sentenced to 24 months for trafficking within 1000 feet of a school. The sentences were run concurrently. The judge noted Bolden had no prior felonies.

Harry Smith, Jr., 54, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to 22 months in prison for possession of heroin and permitting drug abuse, both felonies of this fifth degree. Smith allowed Bolden and others to use his Gambier Street apartment to sell drugs in return for money and heroin. Judge Wetzel noted Smith had a felony history, including a sex offense, and had violated his bond conditions prior to sentencing.
