Knox County Sheriff’s Report – Jun 27, 2019

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on East Main Street near Clay Street in Centerburg. During the traffic stop, consent was given to search the vehicle. During the search marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia were located. A written traffic warning and two minor misdemeanor citations were issued to Paul Steele on June 27th, 2019.

A complainant advised that there was a male lying in a yard on Columbus Road. John Lowe III was arrested for disorderly conduct on June 26th, 2019.

A victim, from the 3000 block of Columbus Road in Centerburg, stated that someone had entered his unlocked car and took a bag containing miscellaneous personal papers. He also stated that he was missing 2 firearms. It was later determined that that guns had been moved by his wife to another location for safe keeping. A report was taken for the theft of the bag with miscellaneous personal papers on June 26th, 2019.

A Deputy was dispatched to Northview Drive in Mount Vernon on the complaint of a disturbance. Michael Atkins, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on a probation violation on June 26th, 2019.

A Deputy was dispatched to Apple Valley Drive in Howard, on the report of a stolen vehicle. Contact was made with the vehicle owner who stated that when he woke up around 9:30 AM he noticed his vehicle was missing from his driveway. He also stated that he got to his house around 9:30 PM on June 26, 2019, and went to the neighbors. He returned home around 10-10:30 PM and his Truck was in the driveway with the doors unlocked and his wallet and keys inside. He was made aware that his vehicle was found crashed in Loudonville and no one was with the vehicle. The victim was given information that he needed to get ahold of the Ohio State Highway Patrol in order to get more information about his crashed truck. The incident occurred on June 26th, 2019.

A Deputy was dispatched to a residence on Bell Church Road in Martinsburg on a vehicle theft. Statements and photographs were taken on-scene and a report was written on June 25th, 2019.
