New Projects Expected to Create More Than $139 Million in Investments

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of assistance for 10 projects set to create 1,559 new jobs and retain 1,788 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $105 million in new payroll and spur more than $139 million in investments across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

 

CENTRAL:
Carvana LLC, City of Heath (Licking Co.)
, expects to create 400 full-time positions, generating $13.3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Heath. Carvana is an online platform that enables users to trade, finance, buy, and sell used cars. The TCA approved a 1.368 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

City Barbeque Group Inc. (City Barbecue), City of Dublin (Franklin Co.), expects to create 35 full-time positions, generating $2.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $3.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Dublin. City Barbeque is a fast-casual barbecue chain. The TCA approved a 1.439 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Integra Beauty Inc., City of Groveport (Franklin Co.), expects to create 61 full-time positions, generating $1.7 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Groveport. Integra Beauty provides services to retail beauty companies, including warehousing and distribution. The TCA approved a 0.892 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

ORIX Real Estate Capital Holdings LLC (ORIX), City of Columbus (Franklin Co.), expects to create 62 full-time positions, generating $6.1 million in new annual payroll and retaining $35.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Columbus. ORIX provides capital solutions for multifamily, affordable, seniors, and health care real estate. The TCA approved a 1.928 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Toyoda Gosei North America Corporation (Toyoda Gosei), City of Dublin (Franklin Co.), expects to create 14 full-time positions, generating $1.3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Dublin. Toyoda Gosei manufactures rubber and plastic automotive components, safety systems, and LEDs. The TCA approved a 1.489 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Univar USA Inc. (Univar), City of Dublin (Franklin Co.), expects to create 225 full-time positions, generating $11.7 million in new annual payroll and retaining $19.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s consolidation project in Dublin. Univar distributes chemicals and ingredients to suppliers. The TCA approved a 1.706 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

 

NORTHEAST:
SM Management Services LLC (Skoda Minotti), City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.)
, expects to create 20 full-time positions, generating $1 million in new annual payroll and retaining $1.9 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cleveland. Skoda Minotti is a business advisory firm with practices including financial services, information technology, professional staffing, risk management, strategic marketing, and valuation and litigation. The TCA approved a 1.201 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

 

SOUTHWEST:
Belcan LLC, City of Blue Ash (Hamilton Co.)
, expects to create 200 full-time positions, generating $15 million in new annual payroll and retaining $42.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Blue Ash. Belcan provides engineering project management and technical staffing solutions to various industries. The TCA approved a 2.211 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Mercy Health, City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.), expects to create 500 full-time positions, generating $50 million in new annual payroll and retaining $140.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cincinnati. Mercy Health is a health care system comprised of 43 hospitals in seven states. The TCA approved a 2.519 percent, 12-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

 

WESTERN:
McKesson Corporation, Jefferson Township (Fayette Co.)
, expects to create 42 full-time positions, generating $2.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $5.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Jefferson Township. McKesson is a health care company that distributes pharmaceuticals and provides health information technology, medical supplies, and care management tools. The TCA approved a 1.5 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
