Spring Migration: Monarchs

In the entire world, no butterflies migrate like the monarchs of North America. They travel much farther than all other tropical butterflies, up to 3,000 miles. It takes four generations of monarchs to complete the entire migration cycle. But residential areas planted with butterfly-attracting plants such as milkweed, asters, yarrow, goldenrod, sedum, and others will bring them to your home during their trip south.

The monarchs that overwintered in Mexico are now in the final month of their lives. How far north will they travel?
