New Projects Expected to Create More Than $216 Million in Investments

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of assistance for five projects set to create 836 new jobs and retain 939 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $41 million in new payroll and spur more than $216 million in investments across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

NORTHEAST

Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc., Troy Township (Geauga Co.), expects to create 400 full-time positions, generating $23.8 million in new annual payroll and retaining $49.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Troy Township. Great Lakes Cheese manufactures and packs bulk shredded and sliced cheeses. The TCA approved a 2.281 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Morgan Truck Body LLC, City of Orrville (Wayne Co.), expects to create 139 full-time positions, generating $4.9 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Orrville. Morgan Truck Body manufactures dry freight, cargo, and refrigerated truck and van bodies, as well as a variety of vehicle parts and accessories. The TCA approved a 1.293 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Youngstown Tool and Die Company LLC, City of Youngstown (Mahoning Co.), expects to create 60 full-time positions, generating $2.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $2 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s acquisition project in the City of Youngstown. Youngstown Tool and Die Company manufactures dies and tooling for the aluminum extrusion and other industries. The TCA approved a 1.467 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

CENTRAL

AVT Technology Solutions LLC (Tech Data), Village of Obetz (Franklin Co.), expects to create 88 full-time positions, generating $3.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $12.1 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the Village of Obetz. Tech Data provides aftermarket services, including repair, refurbishment, re-engineering, and IT asset recovery for the technology supply chain. The TCA approved a 1.349 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

LOCATION TBD

Kyotocooling – North America LLC, (Location TBD), expects to create 149 full-time positions, generating $6.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $1.1 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in a to-be-determined location. Kyotocooling provides water-free cooling technology for data centers. The TCA approved a 1.472 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
