The Fight Continues

Through the generosity of the community residents who have contributed to the Arms of an Angel Anti-Drug Fund, and the Granville Police Department, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office has acquired a second drug detection dog. Lola, a 2 ½-year-old female Belgian Malinois has been assigned to Deputy Chase Law. They are currently training together preparing for their upcoming state certification.
Originally, Lola began with the Granville Police Department working as a drug detection and patrol K9. Due to a medical situation that could potentially shorten her career if she continued working as a patrol dog, Granville offered Lola to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office for use as a drug detection-only K9. A $5,000 donation from Arms of an Angel has helped cover costs associated with the necessary equipment and vehicle modifications. Chase and Lola are expected to hit the streets together in early December.
Tax-Deductible Contributions to Arms of an Angel Foundation can be made through the Community Foundation of Mount Vernon and Knox County, or in person at 1485 Yauger Road (Real Living Office) or to PO Box 1091 Mount Vernon, OH 43050. The foundation, headed up by the Culbertson Family, continues to do drug awareness programs and raise funds for more K-9 units in Central Ohio.
This news is being released on November 13, what would have been the 37th birthday of Carl Culbertson, who passed from an accidental overdose in 2009, which sparked the founding of Arms of an Angel Foundation by the Culbertson Family.
