Kokosing River Clean Up Court Volunteers

On Saturday, 30 volunteers from the Court including community service workers participated in the Kokosing River clean up. The event was organized by the Knox County Recycling and Litter Prevention Program. There was plenty of work to do along over two miles of the Kokosing River.

Chief Probation Officer Dave Priest lead the Court’s involvement in the project. Probation Officer Susie Eisel and Court Security Officer Tom Brown supervised a group of community service workers who picked up debris along the Kokosing Gap Trail and the river bank. MERIT Court Coordinator/Probation Officer Joel Carter supervised the MERIT Court members from his canoe. Special thanks to the Mount Vernon Parks Dept. and to Fackler Country Garden and Supplies for the use of their ATVs; Laura Webster, 911 Director, for assisting with our communications; and Jen Annett and Bryan Blaydes for being our safety monitors.
