MVNU Ending Academic Theatre Program

Hey, MVNU Theatre fans! It’s a bad news/good news day. We’re very sad to announce that MVNU has decided to end its academic theatre program. This means that the theatre major & minor, as well as theatre-related courses, will not be offered at MVNU after the 2018-19 academic year. It has not been decided yet whether theatre will continue to be offered as an activity after this year.

HOWEVER, we are VERY excited to announce our fantastic upcoming (and possibly farewell) season! We start off with C.S. Lewis’s classic tale THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE, adapted by Joseph Robinette and directed by MVNU alumnae Serra Barrett. We celebrate MVNU’s 50th Anniversary with an ENTERTAINMENT SHOWCASE featuring the talents of MVNU students, alumni, faculty, and staff. We conclude our season with the brand-new musical FREAKY FRIDAY, based on the novel by Marky Rodgers and the Disney films.

Tickets for “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe” and “Freaky Friday,” as well as season passes, will be on sale in mid-September at theatre.mvnu.edu. The Entertainment Showcase is free, but seating is sure to go quickly for this one-time event! Until then, check out our “Events” page for dates and pricing information.

Thank you to all of our amazing patrons for your support of MVNU Theatre over the years. We hope to leave you with a memorable and enjoyable final season!
