Help Keep Wildlife Safe

A great horned owl that had become tangled in a soccer goal net was rescued by ODNR Division of Wildlife staff in Summit County last week. It was transferred to a local certified wildlife rehabilitator for evaluation.

Please help keep wildlife safe by storing things like soccer, volleyball, and lacrosse nets away until you are ready to use them. If this isn’t a reasonable option, at least keep an eye out for animals in distress when passing by sports fields. Deer, foxes, and rabbits have been known to be snared by such nets as well.

If you do see an animal in distress, please call local wildlife professionals or your local law enforcement agency right away: http://ow.ly/98Iq30loIgg
