Special Notice for Wayne Township Residents in Fredericktown

“What are you going to do with the old shop” is something we’ve been asked a lot in the last six months. Well, here’s what we’re planning to do, opening Elliston Refreshments- Fredericktown’s first and only drive through! Yeah, the name kinda sucks but we’re committed to the ER brand and how many “R” words for drinks can YOU think of?… I’m waiting. Actually, if you come up with a better one now don’t tell me because we’ve already incorporated. It’s too late for your help.

That’s actually not true though, our first step toward that goal is reaching out to you, the voters. Well, if you’re a Wayne township resident that is. If you’re not, we’ll REALLY appreciate your support, but unfortunately, you have no say. haha. Spread the word to your friends though!

We will be going door-to-door asking Wayne Township residents to sign our petition so we can get an issue on the ballot this November to allow us to obtain an alcohol sales permit. If you are a resident and would be so kind as to sign, reach out to us. You can stop by the shop, or give us a call and we’ll come to you. We’ve got just about a month to get 118 signatures and we’re relying on your help to get us there!

It’s a first for the area and a big change, so if anyone has any questions about what we’re doing feel free to ask. To give a quick run down of the business model, while we’re not going to be a beer-only establishment, we’d be lying if we didn’t say that a drive-thru will work well without alcohol sales. However, in addition to beer-wine-cigarettes etc, we’re planning a great selection of everything a normal convenience store carries. And that’s the key word, CONVENIENCE. My wife and I have three kids, and if she’s on the way home and needs a cold 12 pack of diet coke (because basic white girl), a bag of chips and MAYBE a bottle of wine… maybe.. and she can get all of that and NOT UNLOAD THREE KIDS. Well then, at that point you’re not a convenience store, you’re a white knight. haha.

In all seriousness though, I think any stigmas have pretty much left town in the last decade with the introduction of other convenience stores and two other great restaurants that all have alcohol, and to date have resulted in zero crime sprees and lawlessness. Hopefully, the vote is a formality and with your help, we can get on the November ballot and have things up and running early next year.

Thanks in advance for your support!

Aaron
