Butterfly Monitoring Project

Join the Knox County Park District for our butterfly monitoring project on Friday, June 29 at noon. Each week, park district interns and Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists conduct a butterfly population survey as they stroll through the various habitats of Honey Run Highlands. Come along and see what this project is all about! This is a great, hands-on opportunity. Learn how to identify butterflies and skippers through close encounters and hear first hand from our OCVNs about other fun events they work on throughout the year.

The study is weather dependent, and a rain date is set. Water, sunblock, and a comfortable pair of walking shoes are recommended. Please meet at the Honey Run Highlands, US Route 62 lot 10816 Millersburg Road. We look forward to seeing you! This photo was taken at Marshall Meadow located on Yauger/Gilchrist Road by our Intern, Matt Baugher.
