R415 and G412 were dispatched at 1:23 pm on Wednesday afternoon to the intersection of Sparta Road and the bypass on a two-vehicle crash. Fredericktown EMS also responded with two medic units.
Upon arrival to scene, a mini-van was found just north of the intersection having sustained heavy damage. The second vehicle, a semi-truck, and trailer was found about a hundred yards north with significant damage and a large debris field. There was no entrapment and no extrication required. One person was transported to Knox Community Hospital.
R415 responded with two personnel and assisted with blocking the scene during investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Crews assisted with cleanup of the debris to allow the roadway to open. G412 brought additional spill cleanup materials from the firehouse.
The FCFD had four firefighters and one cadet respond to the call. All units were back in quarters by 2:28 pm.
