Free Facebook for Business: Intermediate & Advanced Social Media Techniques Workshops

The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County will host a free workshop “Facebook for Business: Intermediate & Advanced Social Media Techniques”  beginning with part one on Thursday, May 31, 6:00-8:00 p.m. and ending with part two on Thursday, June 7, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the main library, 201 N. Mulberry Street, Mount Vernon.

We know that solopreneurs and small business owners do not have the larger marketing budgets of larger companies. Join us two 2-hour workshops (Intermediate and Advanced)  to help you create your own successful ad campaigns that get results.

Trained Social Media Instructor and Business Strategist Emily Morrison will present a unique workshop that opens with an instructional component for participants who are already familiar with the basics of Facebook and social media and then transition into a hands-on advanced approach as participants create an ad for their business or organization and to analyze data to determine effectiveness of ad campaign, demographics, and target audience.

Part One Intermediate: Thursday, May 31, will focus on Facebook best practices, interaction techniques, Facebook Pixel, ad goals, creating your social media image, reaching your audience on a budget, how to grow your social media following, and how to use insights to your advantage.

Part Two Advanced: Thursday, June 7, will feature ad techniques, how to stay out of “Facebook jail,” rules and appeals, and how to plan social media advertising campaigns.

For this intermediate and advanced workshop, all participants must have a personal Facebook account and a Facebook Business Page set up before attending the workshops. Bring any photos and/or videos you would like to include in your ad campaign. Bring a laptop as not all features are available on smartphones and tablets. A limited number of library laptops will be available.

This program is free and open to the public. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

Class size will be limited to facilitate more personal instruction.  To reserve a seat, call the main library circulation desk at 740-392-BOOK (2665), or contact PLMVKC Community Relations Linette Porter-Metler at 740-501-0080, or email communityrelations@knox.net.
