Give Back. Go Forward. Engage at Every Age!

The GIVEback. GOforward. (GBGF) program – a joint effort of the Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Ohio Department of Aging – perfectly embodies the theme of Older Americans Month. “Engage at Every Age” emphasizes the importance of being active and involved, while GBGF gives adults 60 and older the opportunity to do just that – staying active through volunteering and staying involved in their community through their service. The program launched in 2015 at Youngstown State University and Eastern Gateway Community College, and has since grown to include Bowling Green State University, The Ohio State University, and Shawnee State University. Volunteers who have served 100 hours with partner organizations will earn a three-hour tuition voucher that they can use themselves or gift to a family member, friend, or a student in the community who could use an extra boost.
