Danville Public Library to Host Author Helga Long as Part of Danville Ladies Night Out

The Danville Public Library will host Helga Long, local author of “Helene: True Story of a German Girl’s Resilience Growing Up During World War II,” on Friday, May 11, 4:30-7:30 p.m. as part of the Danville Ladies Night Out activities.

Long wrote the book from recorded interviews with her mother, Helene, who described what it was like to be a child in Germany growing up during WWII. Copies of the book will available for purchase and can be autographed by the author.

Festivities, sampling, door prize drawings and live entertainment will be held around town from 5: 00-9:00 p.m. with businesses and restaurants open until 8:00 p.m. Visitors can pick up maps, schedules and enjoy specials at participating Danville businesses.
