Revamped Karaoke Contest Back for Fifth Year at USA Days

The Heart of Ohio USA Days Festival is again hosting the fifth annual Karaoke Contest! This year the age has been lowered to 16 so high school students may enter and participate. This year the preliminaries will be hosted by Wyandot Golf and Dining at 3032 Columbus Road (State Route 3) just west of Centerburg. The competition will begin Saturday, May 19th and run five weeks each Saturday through June 16th. Registration at 6:30 pm and the contest begins at 7 pm. There is a limit of 20 contestants per week. Anyone not picked as a finalist will be able to return and try again. There will be three new judges each week.

This year there will be three semifinalists chosen by judges each week. On June 23rd a semifinal will cut the 15 semi-finalists to ten. Those ten will then perform for celebrity judges at the festival on June 30th at 4 pm. After all ten have sung their first song, four will be immediately cut based on scores. The final six will then perform a second song. Last year’s winner, Sissi Thompson will sing one song and then will present the $500 check to the winner after they are announced. The second and third place winners will receive $300 and $200 and the other three runners-up $50 each. Trophies for the final six will also be presented.

Excesss Karaoke of Columbus will handle the music with KJ Josh Noble.
