Former Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office Detective Indicted

(FREMONT, Ohio)—A former Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office detective has been indicted for alleged crimes related to his work in that office.

Sean O’Connell, 53, of Fremont, was indicted on the following charges:

  • Three counts of Tampering with Evidence, felonies of the third degree
  • One count of Unauthorized Use of the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway (OHLEG), a felony of the fifth degree
  • One count of Falsification, a misdemeanor of the first degree
  • One count of Coercion, a misdemeanor of the second degree
  • One count of Dereliction of Duty, a misdemeanor of the second degree
  • One count of Obstructing Official Business, a misdemeanor of the second degree

All counts, with the exception of the OHLEG charge, relate to O’Connell’s alleged conduct during the homicide investigation into the death of Heather Bogle.… Read full story

(supplier) requested Fresh Pak Inc. to perform a recall for the reason that they could have potentially been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Former Lowellville Police Chief Indicted

(YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio)— A former Lowellville Police Chief has been indicted related to alleged felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and theft in office.

Rick Jamrozik, 41, of Campbell, was indicted on the following charges:

  • Three counts of Felonious Assault, felonies of the second degree
  • Three counts of Possessing Criminal Tools, felonies of the fifth degree
  • Two counts of Tampering with Evidence, felonies of the third degree
  • One count of Theft in Office, a felony of the fourth degree
  • One count of Theft in Office, a felony of the fifth degree

The counts relate to allegations of domestic violence against a woman Jamrozik was living with and the subsequent investigation into those allegations and other allegations which surfaced followed the initial domestic violence allegations.… Read full story
