GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Mount Vernon Municipal Court is recruiting a full-time Bailiff. The Bailiff is a member of the Judge’s personal staff who maintains order in the courtroom, administers the
Judge’s docket and controls the lines of communication to the Judge. The Bailiff may be called upon to protect the Judge and others in the Courtroom from physical harm and must be physically capable of performing this task. A full position description is available on request.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At a minimum, the successful applicant will have a high school diploma or GED. Completion of at least two years of full-time post-secondary education at an accredited college or university is preferred. The successful applicant will likely have relevant experience in a court system or prior law enforcement or military experience. Applicants must have
a valid Ohio Driver’s License with no points. Bailiff training, OPOTA certification to carry a firearm and other relevant training will be required during the probationary period. The offer to hire will be contingent on passing a background check and a drug and alcohol test.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
$33,280-$45,760 commensurate with experience. Full benefits.
