Thirteen Found Guilty

MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found thirteen people guilty at arraignments held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on November 14, 2017.

Louella Chapman, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failure to pay Income Tax Return. The Court sentenced her to a two-year probation term, serve 180 days in jail with 180 days suspended, pay $100 fine plus court costs, and pay all unpaid taxes to the City of Mount Vernon.

Seth Goddard, 25 of Mount Vernon, pled guilty to two counts of Failure to Confine a Dog and was sentenced to pay a total of $225 in fines plus court costs.

Luas Stagg, 35 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of not having a Motorcycle Endorsement and speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a total of $235 in fines plus court costs.

Kelli Stepp, 37 of Mount Vernon, pled guilty to Speed. She was sentenced by the Court to pay a $35 fine plus court costs.

Brian Creech, 27 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine plus court costs.

Brian Needham, 31 of Newark, was found guilty of Driving under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a total of $235 in fines plus court costs.

Erica Baumgartner, 23 of Fredericktown, pled guilty to Driving under Suspension and was sentenced to pay a $200 fine plus court costs.

Aaron Lifer, 37 of Butler, was found guilty of Driving under Suspension and having expired plates. He was sentenced to pay a total of $275 in fines plus court costs.

Blake Hauke, 19 of Mount Vernon, pled guilty to Use of Unauthorized Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $75 fine plus court costs.

Richard Wiles, 23 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of 2 counts of Driving under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a total of $500 in fines plus court costs.

Donald Williams, 37 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving under Suspension and was sentenced to pay a $200 in fine plus court costs.

Andrew Brown, 21 of Mount Vernon, pled guilty to use of Unlawful Plates. He was sentenced by the Court to pay a $35 fine plus court costs.

Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in the rest of these cases.
