Seven Found Guilty

MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found seven guilty at proceedings held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on November 13, 2017.

David Vanderbrake, 29 of Fredericktown, pled guilty to Theft. The Court sentenced him to serve a two-year probation term and 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended.

Richard Middaugh, 48 of Coshocton, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving under Suspension. For the Possession charge, the Court sentenced him to serve 5 days in jail. For the Driving under Suspension charge, he was sentenced to pay a $200 fine.

Jonathan Goines, 24 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Telecommunication Harassment. He was sentenced by the Court to serve a two-year probation term and 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended.

Mitchell Billman, 34 of Galion, pled guilty to Possession of a Hypodermic Needle and Driving under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to serve 20 days in jail, with credit for 8 days served, concurrently for these charges.

Clayton Smith, 39 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Petty Theft. The Court ordered him to serve a two-year probation term, 180 days in jail, with 166 days suspended, and to complete 20 hours of community service.

Michael Fullmer, 36 of Mount Vernon, pled guilty to Operating a Vehicle under the Influence. He was sentenced to serve a two-year term of community control, 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, and complete an alcohol and drug assessment within 90 days.

Wendy Carpenter, 46 of Mount Vernon, pled guilty to Driving under Suspension and was sentenced by the Court to serve 3 days in jail and pay a $250 fine.

Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in these cases.
