Sixth Annual Ten-Hour Halloween Classic Movie Marathon Party

Ten hours of chills and thrills will be featured during the sixth annual free “Halloween Classic Movie Marathon” on Saturday, October 28, 2:00 p.m. to midnight at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry Street.

The marathon will feature the following classic movies (and a surprise or two!) with approximate start times:

2:00-4:00 Hocus Pocus – 1993 (PG)

4:00-6:00 Bell Book and Candle – 1958 (not rated)

6:00-8:00 I Married a Witch – 1942 (not rated)

8:00-10:00 Mama – 2013 (PG-13)

10:00-Midnight  Nightmare on Elm Street – 1984 (R) (Age restriction enforced)

Participants can come for one or all shows. After the main library closes at 5:00 p.m., the public can enter from the back parking lot. This year’s “haunted hallway” theme will be “Witches of Literature.”

This program is designed for adults. Children under 12 will need to have parent or adult guardian present for this event. A Witch Cackle contest for prizes will be held at 7:30 p.m.

The program is free and open to the public.  Free hot dogs, candy, lemonade and treats will be served courtesy of Friends of the Library.

The Family Halloween Party  designed for younger children to enjoy the “Haunted Hallway”, classic Halloween cartoons, hot dogs and treats will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
