Troopers Seize $2,642 Worth of Cocaine in Mahoning County

On October 12, 2017, troopers stopped a rented 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, with Ohio registration for a left of center violation on South Avenue in the city of Youngstown. During interaction with the suspect, criminal indicators were observed and the odor of raw marijuana was detected. A probable cause search of the suspect revealed a plastic bag containing approximately 29 grams of crack cocaine, worth $2,642, that was voluntarily removed from his person. The suspect, Antwane J. Peeples, 26, of Youngstown, Ohio was charged with possession and trafficking in cocaine, both first-degree felonies. He was incarcerated in the Mahoning County Jail.
