Job Opportunities with New Directions Shelter

JOB OPPORTUNITY: New Directions seeks multiple part-time night and weekend staff – paid and volunteers.

Core responsibilities include:
1. Ensure safety and security of residents; provide individual advocacy for shelter residents and their children
2. When necessary, notify on-call staff regarding situations that require immediate attention
3. Maintain records of services provided
4. Assist with projects as needed

Candidates are required to have graduated from high school or obtained a GED; previous training and experience in domestic or sexual violence preferred; bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology or a related field preferred. A current or previous connection to Knox County is also desirable, though not mandatory.
