A Closer Look at the History of Civil War Flags

The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County presents “A Closer Look at the History of Civil War Flags” on Wednesday, July 19, 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of the main library, 201 N. Mulberry Street, Mount Vernon.

Flag collector, history buff, Friends of the Library board member and member of Sons of Union Veterans,  Mickey Shire, will bring some of his own collections of civil war flags to view during the program. He will also share insight and lead a discussion on which flags and civil war memorabilia  are currently under scrutiny and being removed.

The program is free and open to all ages. Feel free to participate during the question and answer session following the presentation. Refreshments will be served.
