“Hang Out with Wheels” Free Outdoor Party with Fire, Rescue, Farm, and Rec Vehicles, Thurs July 6, 10 am

The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County will be “rolling along” with a free outdoor party, “Hang Out with Wheels,” on Thursday, July 6, 10:00 a.m. to Noon, in the rear parking lot of the main library, 201 N. Mulberry Street, Mount Vernon.

The event is part of the “Build A Better World” Summer Reading Program. The public of all ages are invited to attend the free event and bring a camera. A fun collection of “wheels” from fire, rescue, police, disaster services, farm, construction, recreational vehicles, etc. will be available for photos with both kids and adults.

In addition to representatives of fire, police and public safety, other “big wheel” favorites invited include Trail City LLC, Ohio Rental, Mid-Ohio Suzuki Honda Yamaha Kawasaki, American Red Cross, Ariel Corporation (featuring CNG fuel technology), Shearson’s Equipment, Mount Vernon Ambulance, Fackler Kubota Tractor & Equipment, Blubaugh’s Body & Frame and Danny’s Auto Center and others. Friends of the Library volunteers, library staff and participant representatives will be on hand to assist with more information on the equipment.

Free sno-cones, lemonade, and cotton candy will be provided by the Friends of the Library. Balloons and pinwheels will be available while supplies last.

Children who have completed their summer reading program reading requirements for the Mount Vernon program will need to go to the lower level of the main library during the event to receive their prizes.
