Waiting to Mow Helps Wildlife

If you can, delay mowing weedy and grassy areas or resist from mowing at all! Wildlife like the cottontail rabbit, ring-necked pheasant, bobwhite quail, and countless songbirds and insects will thank you. Areas of tall grasses and forbs provide essential nesting cover for many important, native wildlife species. Doing your part for wildlife is easy – just mow less.
