Beginning on Wednesday, June 21 our annual church night kicks off the week at 7. After that will be the “Music Men of London” who sing classic barber shop harmony, but with the songs you know and love. You haven’t lived till you hear a Beach Boys song in barbershop style!
Thursday, June 22nd will ROCK!! Area favorites “King Darwin” will get down and dirty with some hard rock and metal at 6 to get you warmed up! At 7:30 the annual Little Miss Liberty and Little Uncle Sammy Pageant will crown the 2017 winners. Then at 8 get back into your 70’s groove! Wear your tie dye and your headbands and bell bottoms as you will be transported back to those great arena rock bands with the “Classic Rock Experience”. They will play all your favorites from Queen, Journey, Def Leppard, Styx and many more! You will LOVE this show! High energy all the way!
Friday, June 23rd takes you even farther back! After a magic show at 5 the “Shades of Blue” will come on at 6 to entertain you. They are great showmen and promise to sing their hit song “Oh, How Happy You Have Made Me”. At 7:30 Steve Jagger will auction off a guitar which will be signed by the groups. The money goes back into the festival to continue to bring you name acts every year! At 8 the great “Marcels” will take the stage. First they will introduce a new up and coming country singer they have signed, Her name is Sarah Wilson. The Marcels are also a very entertaining group and they will sing their hit songs like “Blue Moon” and “Heartaches” as well as their new CD’s songs like “Hail Yeah”! Nobody can sing that famous low note like these guys can! Original singer Walt Maddox will treat the audience to his tribute to the late, great Nat King Cole. Close your eyes and you won’t tell the difference.
Saturday, June 24th is an entire day of fun! The annual parade which will be saluting local businesses begins at 11 am. Kristi Layton will be the Grand Marshall this year. She is a local businesswoman who owns and runs her own bakery. She is also active on the local School Board of Education and a member of the Oldtime Farming Festival committee. Kristi is successfully waging a personal battle with cancer and is now back to work!
At 12 noon, the CHS band will do a short concert. A Twirl-A-Thon will take place on stage at 1 pm. At 5 Dave Lehman will delight young and old alike with his magic tricks. At 6 is the annual Toddler Track Meet. This event has a baby crawl race and a one year old foot race and a two year old foot race. The tots are competing for cash prizes and trophies. This is a lot of fun to watch!
At 6:30 will be our Karaoke Contest Grand Finale! Check out our karaoke facebook page “USA Days Annual Karaoke Contest” which will feature each week’s semi-finalists. That contest begins May 6 through June 17th each Saturday at Throwback Alley in Centerburg. Then at 8 local favorites, “Kokosing River Surf Club” will perform lots of songs you will all know and love. And finally at 10 will be the annual fireworks extravaganza!
