Multi-State OVI Enforcement Successful in Removing Impaired Drivers

COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol made 331 OVI arrests during the latest 6-State Trooper Project, focused on removing impaired motorists to make safer roadways. The high-visibility enforcement began Friday, December 2 and ended Sunday, December 4. It included the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Pennsylvania State Police and the West Virginia State Police. “This weekend marked the end of our fourth year of commitment to the highly successful 6-State Trooper Project,” said Colonel Paul A. Pride, Patrol superintendent. “We’ll continue our collaborative efforts with our public safety partners to make our roadways and communities a safer place to live and travel.” The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing.
