A Living Literature Presentation, “Readings in Latino Poetry” will be presented by Mount Vernon High School and Kenyon College on Thursday, December, 1, 4:00 p.m. at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry Street.

Mount Vernon High School and Kenyon College students will recite and discuss the work of four poems by contemporary Latino writers. Part of a project entitled “Living Literature,” this event represents the culmination of a collaborative effort to study and discuss these texts with the goal of contributing to making literature come alive–“living” for both students and the larger community—and create something that can foster a deeper knowledge of oneself as well as empathy and acceptance of others.

The program is free and open to the public of all ages. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call the main library at 740-392-BOOK (2665), visit www.knox.net or email communityrelations@knox.net.
